Fellowship of Christian Athletes from Clemson University came to New Orleans to impact the community for Jesus. While here, they partnered with our organization and our church to do an outreach in the 7th ward. Many lives were change in the community, and on the team. The last night of worship service of there trip, there were many salvations, and 6o people were baptized!
I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. (Exodus 20:5, 6 NLT)
Here the scripture clearly states that generational curses (bondage) are inevitable when we reject God. When parents operate in sin, the children will be affected; LET’S GO DEEPER: we are all born into sin because of Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden. So its even more difficult when a child has parents that didn’t obey God and allow sin to come in; you can see that a child, unless they come into the full knowledge of who God is, won’t have a fighting chance.
Family and Friends, that’s why a lot of times we believe that our problems or character flaws are “just who we are” but the truth of the matter is that we don’t understand what we are fighting against and the weight we are carrying because we were born with it already attached. I like to call it “Generational Weight“. That’s why from the first time you have an Encounter with God, there will be no other feeling like it. When u have truly given your life to Him, obeying His commands, and operating in power that comes from the Holy Spirit, no problem, generation curse, or demonic force can hinder you, because you are a child of the Living King!!! WALK IN VICTORY, God is ready to lavish you with Unfailing Love, Be a GENERATIONAL CURSE BREAKER, your unborn family members are depending on you. BREAK THE CURSE!!! – Jonathan L. Burton

Have you ever wondered why the closest people in your life can a lot of times be quite different from the way you are? God sometimes does this to have us work at BEING PATIENT WITH OUR DIFFERENCES. In the Love chapter of the Bible, the first word used to describe LOVE is PATIENCE. (1 cor. 13:4)
Galatians 5:22 (NLT) tells us that patience is a gift from God that comes by way of the Holy Spirit. Just like we train our muscles to get stronger to make lifting weight and exercising a lot easier, we have to train ourselves to be patient so that every obstacle that we encounter in life will be easier to handle.
God made us different on purpose so that we will have opportunities to learn patience. I believe that thats the key to loving unconditionally, God sure was patient with us through 42 generations of leaders until He sent His son to finish the work, and restore the relationship between man and God.

We had A Blast in Jamaica, Lives were Changed! The pictures above are from one of the middle schools that we outreached at. It was awesome to go back to this school and to be greeted with so much love from the students and faculty that remembered us from last year.
One of the most memorable moments of the trip was having the opportunity to be the guest speaker on sunday morning at the host church. We had an awesome time of praise and worship. The senior pastor wasn’t able to attend because he had to preach at his other church. Before we left to come back to the states, he talked to me and said the message that was preached really impacted his congregation and leadership team. He said get ready pastor J for crusades, God is going to open doors for you in the near future.

Cross It Up’s “Life Engineers” program is a intensive, self – development/mentorship program that focuses on meeting the needs of each individual, and equipping them with the necessary tools to become a Life Engineer. – A person that is skillfully trained to design and construct a plan to produce growth in one’s life, and the lives of others, through past experiences and changes originating internally.
This summer, we will be launching this program to give our students the opportunity to deal with issues that have stop them, or discouraged them from getting there high school diploma. Students will also be able to receive tutoring and counseling as well.
Cross It Up Inc. has partnered with Springfield Prep School to launch a satellite campus in the city of New Orleans! The Pictures are from our first graduating class, December 2011.
Springfield Prep School NOLA (SPS NOLA) is and alternative prep school that offers the ages of 16 and up the opportunity to earn there High School Diploma. We also help students who are preparing for college through the ” E.A.T.S.” program:

CIU did our first “Help A Church” Outreach at Liberty In Christ Christian Church– St. Rose, Louisiana with the help of Fellowship of Christian Athletes from California State University – Sacramento. The Outreach was a huge success; we were able to install bathroom stalls in the men’s bathroom, install dry wall for one of the ceilings, paint, and re-organize some rooms. Apostle Tony Westley, and Prophetess Ina Westley are the overseers of this ministry. Apostle Westley is a man that preaches the Word of God with Power and Authority; I am grateful that we were able to be a blessing to the ministry that God has called him to. We leave for Jamaica on June 29th, im excited about having the opportunity to do basketball clinics, and a workshop on sports in the ministry in Kingston, Mandeville, and Spalding Jamaica. I will be going with a team of Hip-Hop Gospel artist who will be doing free concerts in the evenings in the three different cities. We are believing that God is going to use us to touch the lives of many as we go in His name to show His love to our brothers and sisters in Jamaica.
